YouTube. Where would we be without it? I, for one, would not be typing this right now. Nor would I have just finished crocheting a teal turtle. When I decided I wanted to learn how to crochet, I went to Michaels and bought a beginners kit. A few hours in, I realized words and pictures just weren't enough. I wonder if YouTube has any crochet videos? MUCH to my surprise, there were thousands upon thousands upon thousands of videos. Anything I ever wanted to learn was at my fingertips.
I have to give credit to where it's due, if it wasn't for a woman I've never met named Naztazia, I don't think I would've ever figured it out. I must've watched this 6 minute video close to 100 times; I was determined! I had no idea at the time the strange doors it would open in my life. Crochet became my therapy, my quiet time activity, my daily goal and a wonderful new source of Christmas gifts. I started waking up earlier and going to bed later, all to learn more. I found an extra tote bag sitting in my closet and designated as my official "crochet bag;" it goes almost everywhere with me.
Some thought this new obsession was absolutely nuts, sure, in many ways I'd agree. Most 26-year-olds are not crochet addicts. But it is what it is; I found my new passion and couldn't be happier. Cheers to YouTube for all the help along the way and to my understanding friends and family for the unwavering support of my small business dream!
